About time this site had an overhaul as before it's only been used for one or two personal things that don't fit in the main NukeSoft website
Why NukeSoft? A few years ago when I was avoiding revision for GCSEs I was trying to come up with semi official names to use in copyright notices for programming. Some of the ideas I came up were just plain ridiculous while others had already been used. Eventually I came up with "Nuclear Protection Software" (it was late at night) and then shortened it to NukeSoft. The idea of using it as a name for a company which wrote software didn't take off, but I did decide to keep the name for other computer related stuff.
While I was at university I decided it was time to get my own website. Again, after playing around with a few ideas I decided to have a go at a DOS reference. The reference itself was a useful side effect for people needing one, but the main purpose of it was for me to learn about web design and development. In days of yore it was hosted with Geocities (from the days before they were bought out by Yahoo and when their URLs were far too long to remember). Now the site is hosted with a commercial hosting provider and uses PHP, SSI and MySQL. The next move is likely to be C#, ASP.Net and SQL Server, but not for a while yet
